Idiot friend hooked battery up backwards

My friend borrowed my Case 580E tractor and hooked the battery up backwards after charging it. He said the posts spark and now I have no charge and no power.

I would assume that I need to replace fuses, but I cannot find the fuse box.

Any ideas

I doubt it's a fuse problem. You have probably fried the diaodes (sp?) in the alternator. Disconect the wires at the alternator. then put a properly charged battery in correctly. It will probably work except for the charging system. The sparks are current flow back through the alternator. If this works as I suspect you can replace the diaodes or just get a rebuilt alternator
