Can anyone help me ID this engine? I'm looking for a model number? - all stickers and labels are gone - only thing left is a number on the injector side of the block way down low......

I was told it didn't run, but by dinkin' (and drinkin') , found a wire to the fuel cutoff has so much corrosion inside that it couldn't carry any amps, just got warm in a hurry. Replaced the wire, cranked and it fired! easy starting....just a hint of blue smoke - seems to run strong! Too bad I don't have a good application for it - I just needed one part from the equipment it came in.

Anyway....I would like to know more about this engine, just can't figure out what it is....(other than a Deutz Air(oil) Cooled 4 cyl Diesel.)

here are some pics....

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I checked with TractorData.com - information on all makes and models of tractors and found Deutz used four cylinder engines in models D5005, D5505, D5506, D6005, D6006, D6206, D 6806,7006, D7206. The models below those were two cylinder and three cylinder, and the models above those were six cylinder and eight cylinder.

The official Deutz web site is DEUTZ-FAHRHome and there is an engine page that might help Generators, Gas and Diesel Engines, Power Transmission Equipment | Home, Industrial, Mobile

You might be able to narrow those models down by crossreferencing a filter number, like oil filter or fuel filter. A fan belt number might help, too.

Thanks for the replies. I looked at the left side of the power trac engine posted on the usadiscountgenerators site and while it's similar, there are some major differences. Like the oil filler/dipstick location, dual post pressure sender (or temp sender - I'm not sure which since the wiring is trashed....)

there is a sender located in the same position (as the power trac) and has markings on the posts of "G" and "WK" - I'm assuming "WK" is for the gauge and "G" is for an idiot light?

There is also a sender on the rim of the oil filter housing, tucked in behind a bracket so far that I can't really see it, can only barley get to it with my fingers. one smaller terminal and one larger terminal. Should I go with the assumption that it's an oil temp sender - again one terminal being the idiot light and the other the gauge wire? Any idea what resitance range for the temp sender? I would like to put a gauge on it, but unless it's accurate, I don't see any point to it.

I got the engine to run, but don't want to run it long without verifying that there is oil pressure and it's not overheating....

Thanks for the help!
