Hi there. I would love to know what this piece is that I found in the dirt where an old barn used to sit years ago. Does anybody know what it may be? Thanks!

I thinking its an early version of the gut hook. Very difficult to cast and grind...a lot of edges

But that is just a guess

Looks like it is the part from an old sickle bar mower. The cutter bar blades run in it.

Thanks everyone!! So fun! We just moved onto 20 acres that have not been occupied in many MANY years...barn/shed and home are all gone and as we have been excavating we have been finding so many treasures so I will probably post more photos in the future for help with identification. Thanks again!!
