The pipe on the plow blade works great! I've had pipes on my plow truck plows for the past 20 years. Even if the ground is soft and slush, the plow with the pipe floats over it and scrapes it off without digging into the ground.
I've even used my snow plow with the pipe in the summer to push dirt around the lawn (spread it) without tearing up the lawn.
For my plows, I used the plasma table to cut a 1/2" slot down the pipe so it will slide over the cutting edge. My pipe is 2" Diameter and Sch. 40.
