IH B-414, mf10
Hey all, Slowly picking away at my old IH and curious if any of you know what I actually have? Might be handy to know what model I actually have when I need to start replacing parts.

Bought it from my uncle, its been sitting in his field for a couple years and I'm slowly bringing it back to life, he said he thinks its a b-414, the serial plate is missing so can't go by that. He said the hood/grill were replaced, since they're not the right one for the 414 I would have to agree, but it might be a b-275? Fenders are just generic clam shells my father gave me and the seat\s off an old lawn tractor so not a lot to go on for IDing it visually. Without seeing the tag on it how could I go about telling what model I actually have?

Jot down part numbers in cast pieces like the engine block, torque tube, transmission case, axle housings, etc, the do a search on Google. Some parts may have been used on several models, then some may be model specific. Should help you narrow it down.

from what i could find, clutch housing, puts it as a b414. From what i can tell the 275 and 414 used a different part for the housing. thanks for the idea

There was recently an article about a tractor that looked a lot like yours in the January - February, 2021 "Red Power" magazine. It was a B-414. Sure looks interesting, hope your restoration / preservation goes well.
