1*I would not have paid a bill for water running through a turned off shut off valve.
2*This still will not stop the water that's running through the shut off valve that's turned off.
3*Turning off the elect. to the w.h. won't stop a water leak.
4*What are you going to do about the bills they will keep sending you ?

Thanks for the reminder LB. I got messing around getting my new horse settled in yesterday and today and forgot to phone the stupervisor. I am in agreement on 1-2-3, and I will NOT pay anymore water bills for that city. I turned off the water heater to keep from having the possibility it would be running and the tank be empty.

I guess I should notify my attorney in case they go after me. At least that is a no-cost situation. He was a good friend of my brother who passed last July and I did computer work and web design stuff for him over the years. He never charges me and I have been fortunate to have him give me good advice in several situations. I'll see what he suggests at this point.

I know here in the City of Chillicothe resitential customers are not supposed to turn the water off themselves even in an emergency. You are supposed to call the water dept. so they can come shut the water off or turn it back on. Mom & Dad had a water leak a couple years back and needed to shut their water off, unfortunately the main valve in the house had gone bad and couldn't be shut off. They had my cousin doing the repair (a licensed contractor/electrician/plumber in town), and he shut the water off himself because they would be fined if they didn't have a working shut-off valve.
Now since we live out in the country we have county water. We are allowed to turn our water off and on by ourselves.
