Tried it yet Carl? Just wondering I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on one (a pole saw).

Just bought it today - delivery next week.

I have a 15 YO gas Ryobi multi tool with pole chain saw attachment but its heavy and the clutch/drive disc and shaft is shot again and wanted a tool to pick up and go . I have a Tanaka brush cutter and gas saws, but wanted a quick and easy to use limber tool.

Stihl kombo unit here. Weed trimmer, blade attachment (brush cutter), pole saw, cultivator, bed redefiner, pole hedge trimmer, and a 4' extra add on section. Works great for everything and only one engine to keep up for all the attachments. They make several head units the range from small to large (both in price and power).

I've used mine for a few hours, works good, cuts quick and is super easy on the battery, way lighter than a gas version and no cord to deal with.

Thank you fellows . . . that would be a concern for me I'm 76 with a bad shoulder and bad everything else  . . . I have Stihl (saws, brush cutter, blower) but I checked out the Stihl and I knew it would not be the way to go, way too heavy for me and my ailments . . . ;)

My dad 80 wanted a light polesaw. I recommended the 40V Kolbolt and he loves it. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-40-...Electric-Pole-Saw-Battery-Included/1000180467

I had a echo gas pole saw. Best out there IMO. But it does get heavy. I sold it to a guy looking for one.

After seeing the wife wrestle with my fiskers manual pruner pole saw. I decided to pick her up a B&D 20V pole saw to go with all he other stuff. Chainsaw, ER LED Light, drill, trimmer, etc. Reason for this one we already had 4 batteries.

LPP120 works for her needs and save me alot of work ;)

I don't see that the OP ever returned, I wonder what he ended up doing. For just a couple of times a year I would go with the corded unit and generator as he mentioned; that way he can just put it away at the end of the day and not worry about gas getting old or batteries going bad.

I have the Stihl Combo, and two old wooden handled pole saws.

I still haven't had a chance to get one. I'm leaning towards just using my generator and going with a corded one simply because it gives me a chance to run the generator. I'm looking for one that allows the blade to be adjusted. Some looked fixed, some look like the bar rotates, and others look like the whole power head rotates. The local Harbor Freight isn't that local so I don't want to make a trip to see their's if it doesn't rotate. If I had to guess I'll probably get one that just the bar rotates (hopefully it's a little easier to handle and it'll allow me to cut from the top down).

I wanted the badest pole saw I could find so I ended up with the large Stihl on sale for around $500. Cuts like mad. Very difficult to run more than a tank of gas through it due to your arms and shoulders falling off onto the ground under the tree. After a short time it feels like it weighs 100#. Plus when I hang it up by the bar All the gass leaks out. When I hang it up by the power head all the oil leaks out. Love that pole saw.

I keep mine in a rack so it stays horizontal when stored. They do get heavy if your not used to using them a lot.
The harness helps.

I have a Stihl kombi with a graphite extension and it serves most of my needs but I do have some way up there smaller stuff that I need a good manual pole saw for. I think it was Moss that posted about one some time back that I was interested in but I cannot find the thread.
