I've got a couple of acres to clear and a yard and gravel drive to maintain. I have a box scrape, and I'm thinking I need a rake to clear some of the debris in the woods, smooth off some of the places where I've been digging stumps, dress the drive, etc....

So I'm looking for a landscape rake for my BX25. I'm calling around, checking prices and availability. My only requirements are that it be 60 inches, that it fits my sub cut, be of good quality, and it not be made in China.

I called my local Woods dealer, who also happens to be the JD dealer, and he says that the Woods LRC 60 rake has an MSRP of.............$1600.00:eek: But he can "let me have one" for $738.30 OTD. DURN!!!

So I called the Kubota dealer I bought the tractor from, he offers me a Landpride LR0560 for $575.00 plus tax.

And the other Woods dealer offers me the LRC60 for $675.00 OTD.

Or I can go to Northern Tool and get the King Kutter XB for $479.99 + tax.

Not sure my limited lift would allow for anything not made for the SCUT, like the Woods Estate rakes are. Apparently the Landpride LR05 is as well.

Which would you buy? I will be buying the wheel kits later, but not to much later.

I don't have a rake (yet) but my experience with Landpride (box blade, rear blade, rotary cutter) has been great. Everytime I look at other products (King Kutter especially) they look light and crude in comparison.

Don't underestimate the capabilities of your BX. I use a RBT1572 blade on my BX2660 for gravel and snow. If you're in the woods, a 60" rake is likely your best bet. Don't worry about a tilting option as the degrees of tilt on the RBT series is far too coarse to be of much use.

It looks like I got a good deal on one, a Taylor Way, from member JsBX. Picking it up next week end.

Not a brand I'm familiar with, but it looks pretty stout. It fits his 2660, it's new, priced right, and made in the USA.

And it's even the right color!

I'd buy the landpride.

I have a 60" LandPride landscape rake. I paid around $900, including the wheel kit. Worth every penny, the rake does wonders. Get the wheels at the get go, it is impossible to hold a even grade without them.

+1, they are called gauge wheels for a good reason. My rake is one of my most used/valuable implements.

I use my Landpride rake for gravel driveway maintenance and found that the gauge wheels were a necessity.

My landscape rake works great for my gravel drive. Keep buying those Land Pride products! Keeps our Kansas economy going.
