Dealer I saw a 1540 at the dealer with the new style loader

Interesting how MF is shipping 1540s with the new loader instead of the 1525 now. The new style loader is good looking and completely different than the 1525 it replaces, but strangely the specs are the same. I'm left wondering what the whole point is if it doesn't offer any improvement in performance.

On a technical point, it appears to me that the steel arms (that are bolted to the frame) that the loader attaches to are made of a different type of steel. I'm not a professional fabricator, but the new steel slab that the loader hooks into doesn't look as strong as the old (1525) version.

New style loader for a new style tractor, makes sense to me. The GC loader didn't change specs when it was released on the new 2400's. The curved boom would look better on the new curved hood. In the last few months all the new loaders have been changing to a curved style. I guess they want them all to match. I bet the backhoes will change to a curved boom like the GC series too.

All I noticed when looking at the mounts was the color. I'm sure they wouldn't spend the money to come out with a new mount for a tractor that's getting replaced eventually.

As far as the mount is concerned, yes, the paint is different, but the actual material (steel) looks different as well. Maybe the new paint is put on thicker, but the cut marks aren't visible anymore which makes me wonder if the new plate is "cast" (instead of being cut from plate steel).

Cast would be inferior.

They didn't look cast. Maybe they just got better at cutting them out. Or put the paint on thicker.

i don`t have the 1540 but i do have the 1533 with the new dl 120 fel with the curved arms the dealer said it was to give the operator a better veiw of the bucket so they can see their work better but it don`t look as rugged as the 1525 fel but time will tell
