Ahh... rural visitors!

So, you ask... how many times did I walk by it? Three timeS.

Leaned over by it? Twice.

The dogs were the ones who got my attention.

Enjoy!

If that is what I think it is, I did not know that they could crawl up a wall like that. Now I know how they can get up in the attics.

The last time I saw a vertical snake was at my grandma's crawling up the exterior brick wall following the mortar. The snake looked similar to yours - squared instead of curved - how do they do that.... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
What kind of snake it is?

Thats pretty wild! When I was inspecting our current property for purchase I popped open the huge electrical disconnect panel to have a look. It is the style that has the 2 large knife type blade, well when I peaked in there was the charred remains of some kind of large snake. He seemed to think it would have made a nice place to explore. I found out he had entered in where a 2" knock-out had been knocked out and didn't have a blank installed. It was nasty.

I found a snake crawling up a ladder outside my office. After much looking I found it to be a corn snake. Climbing is one of their traits. So is striking like a rattler, but it's a fake. I let it go in the garden to help with the pests.

Watched a 4' black snake scale up a tree and disappear into a hole about 15' up faster than I thought they could.

They are good mousers so I was careful not to scare it off when I almost stepped on it one afternoon sunning infront of my shop door a few days later /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I also remeber a couple times a year finding a black snake skin in my dads shop growing up. We also purposely left him alone. I never really saw it, but we never had rodents after he moved in. The saws and other equipment noise and vibrations I guess did not bother it.

I've seen snakes go up ladders (corn snake) and up cellar walls (ribbon snake, like a gartner snake). That's a weird pic thou, looks like a door handle or something!! ICK! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

riptides,
oooooowwwweeee!
Glad it's your house & not mine.
Wierdest thing I've ever found in my house, a young possum found in the kitchen. Never figured out how he got in. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif (I kind of think he was snoozing in a box of Christmas decorations brought in from the storage building around the same time. {if so, my wife would have had a coronary if she knew /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif})
Thanks for the photos.
That could not be a "pet" snake one of your kids brought home for fun? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Also a good reason to have some other (more civilized!) house pets.
