Grandad4, thank you for acknowledging my request for assistance. I have managed to aquire a manual that covers these models; this was not an easy task by any means. WSM Workshop Manual, Kubota Diesil Engines. D750-LA/D850-LA-1/D950-LA D850-LA-H/ D950-LA-H
The book is 63 pages with a lot of specs and picturers. I will assist anyone needing any info if I can. I have not as yet checked the links given but I will. I had purchased this manual probably 8 months to a year earlier. Thanks for the info.

RobertN, thanks for the response. These are older engines and yet they keep on ticking, well one is, the possible 23hp is having injector issues.
I tried to fire it off about three months ago and the rollers on the bottom of the injector were frozen in the bores. The engine had set up without running about 7 years. I took the pump off and very gently soaked the pump in carb. cleaner 1 gal. container. I have rebuilt many automatic transmissions I dismanteled the pump as though it was a transmission valve body they are just as delicate. Once cleaned up I took it to a fuel injection repair shop and it still won't pump; the engine ran fine before it set up. I use to run this particular piece of equipment. This section in the manual is somewhat confusing, not really sure how to inturpret what I am seeing and reading. Kinda like looking at a doctors signature, here we are trusting him to make us well, and can't even make out his signature!

Again what are you going to do with the engines????? Are you trying to put them into something and if so what?

Labrat, Thanks, every bit of info is welcomed. I am about crosseyed I have answered all of the above help, I did not want to forget you as you were good enough to take your time and assist me. I think some of this with the fuel solenoid mignt be playing with me also. I have removed the solenoid and moved the rod in the direction that the solenoid would have moved it in, still not resolving the issue. I really do not understand this little critter called a fuel injection pump. Can anyone simplify this beast for me. I can get exact pictures of the pump if, given directions as to how to upload to the site. Don't want to break any rules. I was told that a solenoid could cost me about $140 or $150.00.

I at this point in time am simply trying to resolve a injector pump issue and find out exactly what size engines I have. I am attempting to draw up some kind of basic electrical system, using an old style truck key ignition, standard solenoid, including Kubota starter, glow plugs and a delco remy alternator with built in regulator. After I resolve these issues then I will put one engine to a 4 pole generator that can be run at 1800rpm and the other possibly for my home back up gen.

Robert, right now just trying to wip the little critters butt before it beats mine! Up in the air in all honesty. electrical issues to fix so I don't burn up glow plugs holding current to them to long. and a stubborn injector pump not pumping. already replaced one broken spring the rest are fine.

The fuel solenoid is really only a shut off device, so it can be disabled or bypassed, in fact, for some reason, on my mitsubishi engine I have the solenoid device as well as a manual shutoff that was factory wire disabled. I connected it to a choke cable as an additional safety device.
The solenoid installation is probably to meet some USA safety code.

If you determine that yours is not functional simply gut it and plumb fuel direct and use a small ball valve as your shut off, after all your application is as a stationary engine.
Shutting down a diesel is merely a question of starving it.

Piloon, thanks for the input. The fuel shut off solenoid is on the left side of the block if your facing the fan, just below the top injector pump. If I remove this solenoid there is a round hole open to the outside inside the hole is access to the oil lubricating everthing. I am curious do you simply make a cover and hook the choke cable to the lever on the outside cover? In the hole is a little actuating arm to push right when energized when off a spring pulls the arm back to the left. How would you attach a choke cable to that?

Note that my tractor is a Mitsubishi and surly has a different injector system than yours. On mine there is the 'go' lever (throttle), the manual shut off that I added the manual shut off and the solenoid. The manual lever even had a swivel type cable attachment point which is what clued me in.
As my engine is an everyday runner, experimentally pulling the lever was the easy way to determine the usage.
