Hello you all

I am not an expert in tractors, as a matter fact I am clueless.
I am going to retire from the Navy in 3 month and I just bought 25 acres mostly small mesquite.
I would like to have my retirement as quiet as possible. I been looking at Yanmar 347 and 359 for a long while now.
I got the Yanmar 2019 YT347 ROPS for $27,250 and the New YT359 Cab leftover 2018 for $35,250.
By the way the lot is mostly flat in TX, not rocky.

What is your take? What would be more cost effective or more bang for the money?
:D:D

Thank you in advance.

The yanmar is a nice tractor and those are good prices compared to what i was quoted last yr, that said there are lots of tractor brands out there .you should get on as many as possible and see how they feel. also look at options like rear remotes and telescoping rear links.

Thanks for your service.
I live in Texas, and we are on 25 acres. I would get the bigger Hp and a very heavy duty 6' brush hog. It will take you about 12 hours to mow the whole place.

We have a 65 pto tractor and I can bog it down or slip the 6' brush hog clutch on some of our weeds.

Those are all good brands including woods.

If you have any rocks at all I would forget the brush hog type mower and go with a nice heavy duty flail mower, either hammer blades (great for brush, small trees) or J-blades for grass. You can swap the blades out when needed. The rocks can't be air-born like with a brush hog. They get thrown out with a lot of noise, act like shrapnel and are a major danger! I nearly killed my self with a brush hog and quickly got rid of it for a flail. The swinging blades on the flail just move out of the way of any object hit and if it does go airborne it is contained by the flail shroud and goes up, around, then down into the ground.

In texas I would take the cab for the AC and bug control. Also the higher HP tractor.

I have a 359 ROPS and a 6 foot flail mower. I love it.

Me too, I wish. The money spent on the AC cab option will keep the tractor's value up moreso, over a non cabbed equivalent. It's like you get your cab option money back when you sell, under normal circumstances.
