hello,i just received my tuthill, fillrite standard duty 1202 dc diesel pump in the mail yesterday.upon checking out the not very detailed instructions i am afraid to open the thing and attempt to put it together.could some of you guys that have put one of these things together successfully please help me out.i need some very detailed and very very simple instructions please.it came with one big black cord, positive and negative bundled together.but if i look at it from the end i see the seperate black and red wires in there.do i need to just split the black cable, how do i do that with a knife or something, and then attach my alligator clips to them separatly?can i just leave them still bundled up together and split the big black wire just enough to seperate the positive and negative cables and then put the alligator clips on them to just have one cable to keep up with instead of two?
sorry for so many??? i just figured that it would come with more detailed instructions than it did.
thanks for the help,

The cable should have 3 wires: a black, green and a red.

Put a red clip on the red wiire, black on black: spacing would be your choice, the wider the wires are cut apart fron the sleeve the more tangled they can get.

The green wire is ground & could be clipped to the vehicle frame to be most safety conscious as the green wire is connected to the ground wire in the fuel hose and pump frame.

I'd leave the sleeve cable wire long as it's not a good idea to mix sparks and open fuel together. That way you can have some distance from the vehicle & fuel tank or other 12 power source to run the pump. I clip mine to a 12v jump starter that has a motorcycle battery in it. Easier than accessing a vehicle battery.

I generally use a flashlight & watch the level come up in the vehicle tank so it does not run over (unless you have a fancy auto shut off nozzle.)
