As with most purchases it depends on money and what you plan to do with your forks as to whether the hook on to buckets or attach to fel arms are needed/better. I had the attach to SSQA fel arms on my L3240. They were quick and easy to attach/unattach but I only used them once to move a hugh rock. Sold that tractor with SSQA and current tractors do not have SSQA so I now have the hook to bucket which I can use on my B3200 or BX2660. I rarely use pallet forks and when I do it will not be moving stuff that's to heavy for my hook ons. I know, what's to heavy. That's a roll of generic house wrap and probably 400' to 600' left on roll.
If money is no object and you have SSQA then that's the way to go and especially if you'll use them alot picking up heavy stuff.

Johnthomas,

I like the mounting of your forks. Are they home made? Do you mind posting some images of the forks and how and where you attach the chains? Those tie downs can sure serve another purpose in this case. It seems they may even transfer some of the load onto the top of the bucket.

My operator's manual for my LA513 says that it has "Quick Hitch" implement attachment. I see the 2 black handles. Does this mean that it is able to use universal skid steer attaching implements? I was looking at some forks at WildKat attachments. They are very inexpensive. Nobody I talk to is willing to say that they will absolutely fit my loader. Also has anyone ever dealt with this company or everythingattachments.com ? I realize the limits of this loader and I need it for things in the 300-500 lbs. range

Yes, you can use the universal skid steer implements.

When I had my GL3130 w/LA513 loader, I bought a set of Bobcat QA forks for it. The advantage of using QA forks is that I can see the tips of the forks. I was able to lift ower 850 lbs with these forks, so the weight range that you mentioned should not be a problem.

With my GL5740, I now have the same forks, a QA 3pt adapter and a hydraulic auger which are designed for skidsteers.

I probably have the forks on more than I have the bucket.

I sent you a pm to answer some of your questions. Does your Quick Attach look like this? if so it's universal skid steer.

I see in the picture you posted, that you have the tilt cylinders in the lower bolt holes of the bucket. Would you not have a greater breakout force if the cylinders were in the upper holes? Or, what is the upper holes used for?

Got them from Barlows. I traded my L3240 with SSQA to a B3200 with not SS QA so old forks wouldn't work. Traded my old forks to these. As you can see from attached pictures, I hope, the forks slide over the end of the bucket, wrap chain around the bucket and then tighten down. One end of the chain comes attached to the forks and then the other end hooks to the ratchet and you tighten. It all comes with the forks. Really easy off and on and easy adjustment to width. The ends will turn if you bump something on their sides but that hasn't been a problem for me. Just don't bump them on their sides.:) They are heavy but not to heavy for one person to pick up and install. Zoom on picture to see how they're attached. You may be able to see some more detail where they are in bucket at zoom. If you need more pictures let me know.

That's how they came from the dealer. But I will double check my manual and make sure it was installed correctly.

I got a nice QA plate from a fellow on ebay, $75. I don't think he sells them anymore - shame it was a great deal. Found a pair of forks at local forklift boneyard for $75. He threw in the bar for free. I've got some 1/4" plate laying around, so after a little welding, presto, B26 QA forklift attachment.

I added a box received to the frame with some added reinforcement, used to move around my 12K boat/trailer.

Hi guys
I've just bought a Kubota 60 with a detachable bucket. I want to build a set of pallet forks. This set up looks perfect. I was wondering if you could post some more pics of the construction...especially from the front angle. I don't think I'll be able to get hold of some second hand tynes, so will have to construct them as well.
Cheers Nick

have you taken a look at the home built attachments section? Lots of useful stuff on pallet forks in there.

I'd say they are one of the most useful things to have on a tractor by the way. You wouldn't think so off hand (at least I didn't) but their uses are almost infinite

Thanks Charles
As you can see I'm new to the forum and as a consequence have not had time to explore the threads. I'm still working out how to navigate around the site:confused2:
Your tip is greatly appreciated.
I've tried to email Rich T but it looks as thought he is no longer active on the forum....pity as I suspect his build is exactly what I'm after. The tractor and bucket look very similar to mine.
Perhaps somebody may know how I can contact him.
Cheers Nick
