I Need Help with Ford 3500

I am hoping someone here can give me some instruction on operating this machine. We have to get my father in-laws old ford 3500 tractor running we use it to maintain the dirt road at his place in Maine. He had a stroke 2 years ago and no one has run it in the last 2-3 years. He is all worked up over getting the tractor running. The issue is he is partial paralyzed and can稚 talk to tell me how it works. I used it a few times when he first got it about 20 years ago. I have the main transmission and the thing I thing was labeled "shuttle" in neutral. I turn the key and get a click. I so next I am going to clean up all of the cables and battery. What痴 confusing me is there is sort of a dual pedal on the right side and a round pedal on the right side sort behind the heal of your right foot. How does this thing work? Which is the brake, throttle and is there an E brake4?

Does any one have scan of the operating instructions

right rear pedal is likely diffy lock. right dual pedals are r/l brake...

clean up bat cables and connections.. including chassis ground. get new bat or charg e the old one and test.. might work the shifters in and out for the NS switch if it has sat for a while.

also.. did this have a vertical stack? was it covered?

gas or diesel?

Its a gas tractor and it does have a vertical stack thats always covered with a coffee can when not in use. Whats a diffy lock? Where is the throtle on this machine?

diffy lock.. as in differential lock.. IE.. makes both wheels spin posi traction when you step on the pedal... like when one wheel is slipping.. you step down to get out of the slick area.. etc..
