With a 10/12 roof you certainly won't be worrying about snow load.
Looking really nice, what do you figure total cost to be?
Sounds like the one I am starting on. Currently curing the trees to have milled. Hope dirt work starts this week. Same size same roof and want the extra storage.
Are you turning that peak into a loft for storage? If so how are you accessing it, just a ladder on the inside?
Farmer, please start a thread and post pics along the way. I'd love to see it and get ideas.
I built some doors and took care of a bunch of odds & ends yesterday and today. I'm getting close to the end, I just need to get the siding on but that will probably have to wait until next weekend.

I'm going to have some light storage in the top. I'm planning on patio furniture cushions, etc. I'll have a ladder on the inside to access the loft. The door is a little small but I thought it looked good.
It has been a couple of weeks since I updated the thread so I thought I'd post a couple of pictures from this morning. I found some cedar clapboards on craigslist, they are new but have been sitting around for a while as evident in the pictures. I knew I'd need a little more but buying the old material saved me about $1100. I'm probably not going to get around to painting until the Spring. I have to wait until tomorrow to pick up the rest of the siding that i need. Kevin
Even if you aren't going to paint right now I would at least caulk the heck out of it to make it water tight.
No permits or codes if you are outside city limits here in East Texas, but I still try to build to code if I don't have to.......
