I have a kubota B7800 and have been thinking of something a little bigger. At a local auction there is a 4105 with the 300cx FEL 362 hours that is a bank repo that I may be interested in "trying" to buy. I used my tractor mostly for mowing and brush cutting. Will this handle a 6' rotary cutter fine? What options should I confirm that this 4105 has that I may want. What is a good buy and I know some have just recently bought new ones can some of you chime in what new cost would be? Can anyone tell from the serial #lv4105h1102XX what year it is? Or where would I find the year. Are there any changes from a 2007 or a 2011. Any input on a grapple or a thumb on the bucket and 3rd function switch options?

That size of a tractor will handle a 6' rotary cutter just fine. Depending on the strength of the rotary cutter, though, maybe not. They make them up to 6"? diameter cutting ability (as far as commercially available), and no it wouldn't handle that, but as far as an average rotary cutter, should handle it just fine. I wouldn't imagine it would be set up for a 3rd function, but you can always get that later, just go to the JD dealer and get the diverter valve, and if you need a remote, one of them as well. I would check Tractor House 4105's for a good estimate.

I did see your from GA and one has a really good deal (2009 JOHN DEERE 4105 40 HP to 99 HP For Sale At TractorHouse.com) with the 300CX, lower hours and a 6' brush hog included. May be something to take a look at.

Martian is spot on regarding the 6' brush hog. The tractor would do just fine with a light duty or mid-duty cutter. Some of the really HD models would likely be alot more weight than you'd really like to have hanging off of the 3pt!

If you want to get some idea of new cost - go to the JD website - use the Build Your Own and that'll give you MSRP. Deduct ~ 10% from that and you'll have a pretty good ballpark number for a new 4105.

Well, tractordata.com often has serial numbers
matched to years but unfortunately not for the 4105.
