I must be doing something wrong........

I too recently used a boxblade for the first time. it was a 6 ft international. i was just trying to break up a few inches of dirt to be moved w/ fel. we haven't had much rain lateley & the ground was very hard. i set the rippers low & pulled it around no problem. never spun a tire. wasn't even scraping w/ the blade, just breaking up the dirt. after awhile I noticed the blade was raised rather high, so got off to look at it. the 2 arms that go to the top hitch point were bent to the point where i can't even put the blade on the ground w/ the top hitch all the way out and the rippers removed. Not sure if its my fault of the cheap box. Guess i'll just straighten them & weld in braces.

I box bladed my driveway over the weekend with surprisingly good results. It's fairly long (300') with a pretty good uphill slope, so I was taking a pretty light cut each time, then driving back down to the bottom and going up the other side.
(Reason: some of the gravel runs downhill in a bad rain, so I'm bringing it back to the top of the hill again.) Only took about 5 trips to get it looking pretty darn good - sometimes it all just works I guess. I did learn about setting the top link here, which helped a bunch! Thanks guys!
