I may have lost my only key for the 422

I procrastinated in getting a duplicte key made and now I may have to do something since it's been 2 days and my keys have not shown up. Are these keys unique to the tractor? Better yet, can the ignition switch be replaced with a push button type and eliminate the key?

I'm pretty sure you can just take out your ignition cylinder and match it up to one at a parts store that comes with keys.

I don't think they're anything special. I replaced my ignition switch years ago and now I have 4 keys.

Those look like what used to be standard lawn mower keys. I wouldn't convert to a push button in case some kid decides to start your tractor.

For the money and aggravation, dont even take it apart. Just go to NAPA and buy those keys and any other "lawn mower" keys that look close. But it is >95% chance those keys Moss posted are the correct ones.
