Scrounger and all; I didn't expect so many kind words. Thanks all.

Matthew, The main parts are all 1/4X3" channel. The tabs are 1/4"X3X5, the square tubing I picked up at TSC for about $13 and that was the only cost. The gussets are 1/4" and about 5X5". The horizontal crossmember is 24", and the upright is 16". I used 7018 rod at the plant for horizontal and verticle pieces, the brought it home and 6011 on the rest. Hope that helps.

I LOVE paint!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I plan to chain down the 3pt around my drawbar when I move anything that might get tail heavy.

Next trinket will most likely be a boompole made of 1/4" square tubing when I get the chance. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Regarding the appearance of welds in general, say what I say and they look great......"That's not going anywhere" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

One of the handiest things you could ever build! When you get a chance add a ballast box to it with provisions to carry your chains etc. Don't worry about pulling heavy loads- how much drag does a moldboard plow or backblade put on your tph? Just don't try to jerk too hard on a chain without a nylon "shock-absorber" strap. As far as down pressure, you will know by the tongue weight if it will be a problem. I have a 1 7/8 ball on mine and pull 2" and 2 5/16" trailers around constantly, most times I don't even latch the 1 7/8 trailers, just back up under them, raise the 3pth and drive off. Great job-Pat
