Tractor
NH TC 35 had, now a TC35DA LS25 lawnmower
Please, no one laugh at my welds, but this is my first real welding project. I needed something other than a truck to move my trailers around, so I built my own 3 point trailer mover out of 3" channel, and found the square tubing at TSC already predrilled for the ballmount. I also welded the D ring on to loop my chains thru to drag logs and whatever. I can only get better at the welding. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Nice job! I've been meaning to make something similar myself. I love this site, thanks for sharing.

Very Nice!
Is there some kind of provision to keep it from raising the 3PT up if the tongue weight gets a little light? Maybe a chain down to the drawbar?

Is it home built or did you make it in class?
Nice job. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Man, you guys are really pumping my ego! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Thanks for the comments.

Fire344; Thanks, and welcome to TBN. There are alot of talented, thinking people here, thats where I get my ideas for tractor trinkets

Freds; Never thought out that end of it. I don't think it would be a big deal to run a chain from the drawbar to the hitch if needed. All three of my tandems have axles behind the centerpoint of trailer, so at this time it's not much of a factor, but definetly something to keep in mind if any of them might wind up being improperly loaded.

Ron; I got the steel for free from the scrap bin at the plant except for the square tubing. I welded everything except the tubing and gussets in the shop at work. I used my new to me Idealarc 250 to finish at home this morning before it started raining. I really like my $150 welder! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

John no apologies needed for that project. Neat, clean, and ready to go to work. Very nice. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

John,

That looks real nice and I'll tell you what, making something sure beats running beads on scrap for the sake of practice! Don't ask how I know... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ... answer is I really got sick of practice for the sake of it. Much better to build something like you did.

But the real question is...How do you keep those tires and rims so clean???? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Great project and job well done! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ron's got it, my DA has never been in dirt, /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif YET! I got it on Halloween last year, and the only things it's been used for has been snow, and occasionally loading and unloadeing trucks and trailers. Hopefully the 2nd week in April I'll be upnorth and get it dirty. But I've found that dirt and mud doesn't stick to BLUE tractors very well. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bill; I know what you mean. I'm tired of welding on junk too. I've pretty much been able to weld anything my instructor wants so far, except for verticle up fillets. Those things are killing me! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

To all, I'd have posted back earlier, but one of the cats decided to upchuck all over my keyboard. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Man, I hate it when then that happens. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Got my tractor muddy today!!! Til I broke a weld on the rear blade...

Tractors are red....Trucks are for upchucking cats.

I like it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Does what you want and you designed it to suit your needs. It dose not matter if your welds look like garbage or look like their machine welded, so dont worry about it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Was the Buzz Box Welder as hard to use as everyone has led you to believe? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Great looking job !!! Your welds look good. No one has to feel bad about the look of welds ... the only thing that matters is if they don't break ... I don't think yours will from the look of them and the use you have already put them to.
Cheers!

Nice job, who cares about the weld.... If it holds, and does what it supposed to do........... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Very nice for any project and superb for a first.

Excellent idea. Multi use tools are the best.
