Kubota BX24
I justified buying my BX24 due to my wife wanting extensive landscaping in our new homes back yard. Roughly a 1/3 acre total lot, it hardly qualifies as BX country, but the backyard and a long driveway helped me to justify the acquisition.

While I was hoping to push the landscaping off a year (to let savings build up) my son-in-law volunteered to do the project, so it began a week ago.

It included, moving a lot of sod, then a lot of clay and sand as we excavated the for the sunken patio and fire pit. Then moving 10 yards of sand and gravel, then about 30,000 pounds of patio pavers and wall blocks (10 pallets I estimate at 3 to 4K pounds each. Then various french drains etc.

We have another 4 or 5 days to finish phase I, but it is obvious when I tried to manually carry some of the 100 lb wall blocks even the 30 to 40 feet, that the BX24 was the better way.

In the end, I BX will have saved me about double the contractor price of the project and paid for itself one and a half times over.

I am looking forward to winter again now (moving snow.....what fun).

Toys...ya gotta have 'em.

Next thing you know, the BX won't do the bigger project(s) you might have in mind, it's cold clearing snow in the winter, and you can actually make money clearing snow and moving all the stuff for other people that can't justify or afford the cost of a BX. :D

Then you'll go for something bigger, more expensive and have to build a shop around it, and...oh geeeeeeeeez, sorry, that's my life...

Life is too short...have as much fun as you can along the way...

I clearned a 1/2 acre lot and brought in 350 yards of fill. Got the fill for free! :) The little BX worked to level but I wished it was bigger...It is a catch 22 with it..

Still love it!

We just had rural water installed. I backfilled the directional boring holes with my BX. It took maybe 2 to 3 hours to do it, with a shovel, it would have taken days. Or should I say it would have taken my 16 year old son days.

I love mine too; unlike so many of you guys I just kinda went out a got it without running it by my wife. She thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread now (thankfully).

After 75 hours of use I feel as though I am just starting to get the hang of it.

Is the wife still in the Picture??

Actually....very good question. Since this is here project (all I wanted was a hot tub), she is very supportive of the BX.
