I was pulling a stump. I was a little off balance after I got it out and I backed up to get better “footing”. Very loud grinding and it felt different. I turned and looked down and could see it was off track. I believe it is the front idler that is off. I’m hoping to find some videos that demonstrate how to get it back on. Anyone have advice on this?
It’s a pc 130

I can't help you as that picture doesn't work here to see the problem.

Never having done it I can't give you any advice but there's loks of videos showing the procedure. Looking at the pic the drive sprocket looks worn out tho.

Loosen the track tensioner, put the track back in place then tighten track. When you open the tensioner adjustment, there might be a small ball bearing in there (acts as a check valve) you don’t want to lose it. Tracks are heavy, you can use a chain and the bucket to help move the track.

Yep, they are little thin. I’ve seen worse on equipment farmers have bought just to keep at hand.

Thank you for the link. Is Loosening tensioner the same as releasing grease from the cylinder? I watched a few videos last night and have a rudimentary plan. I couldnt find my pinch bar last night, or any prybar longer than 18 inches, so I may have to go to the store first.

Yes release grease. You might have to force the idler backwards. Raise up the side of the excavator with your boom and work the track back over the idler and tighten. After doing this a few times having a track pop off becomes routine. Excavators are much easier than dozers because you have the ability to lift things.

Do I remove the zerk or do I turn the larger nut that it is sitting in?

Loosen the grease fitting and push the idler in to loosen the track first thing. Then work the track back onto the idler. A second machine to help pull the track will make your day easier. Also only lift the machine off the ground the bare minimum required height. If a bunch of track is hanging under the machine it’s eating up valuable length. You want the track on the bottom side to be sitting flat on the ground and the undercarriage rollers maybe 2” above it. The machine in my picture is too high above the ground. I hadn’t figured out my own advice at that point.
