Thought I'd share a couple of things I learned today:thumbsup:
First has to do with my scag wildcat mower. Other ZTR's may be the same.
For awhile now, only every once in awhile, the drive motors would chatter. Like when going up a steep hill, they would both do it. Or when sideways on a slope and taking off pretty quick, the downhill side motor would chatter (under more load).
Well, today the drive belt let go. Fortunatally I had a spare. I put it on. Seemed kinda loose, but has a spring tensioner. I figured it was getting a little weak. So I looked at it....and there are multiple mounting holes for it. So I tightened it up, and chatter is gone:thumbsup:
So if you ZTR guys are getting a little chatter under load, check the tension of the belt.
