Sorry Prokop, I just can not get excited about woodwork, it's my weakest skill.

I get all these trade magazine's, some on fine woodworking like that, I just think to myself man they are just wasting paper on me

I did make a large plywood firewood box last fall though :)

looks cool. I just use my shaper and do typical rail and style. For larger doors tendons would be stronger.

I do it few different ways, sometimes just radial arm saw and fostner bits, sometimes router, sometimes just hand saw and chisel.

But I still remember how excited I was using dovetail jig for the first time

This one will be very similar, it just works :)

Kreg Jigs

I have just used this for face frame cabinets.
I am not very good at woodworking either, but I have built a little, and this worked well for me, quick and easy.

Add a mortising tool and band saw for tenons to that combination and your all set.

The Radial arm saw does make cleaner squarer cuts though.

From reading, not experience, it mentioned that a half lap joint was stronger than the mortise and tenon.

Grunt: Is it a cedar round the window?

Egon: U right, I use band saw too, but gave up on mortiser when I bought a set of forstner bits.

So did I.:D

My radial arm drill press is rather inexpensive and does not handle the mortise attachment well. Although for angled stuff it is handy.:)
