We had that issue last year. Wifes car is fwd or awd if you decide to press the button.AWD are indeed better than 4wd on paved roads when the snow isn’t too deep. It falls apart when the snow gets deep.
We got 18" of snow and being that it's Arkansas, they have some idiotic ideas on how to take care of it. For instance salting and sanding 18" of snow instead of using the plow thats attached to the same truck




Wifes little Buick would have gotten belly hung. So I took her back and forth to work in the truck instead.
Her little car is a tank as long as it has clearance.
I think the lack of using a plow on a regular basis down there has something to do with it half the new hires would not use the wing plow on the singles and tandems where I worked. But they had no problem cranking the salter to max if I remember correctly you could salt at over 1k lbs per mile. It can be intimidating plowing roads if you rarely do it. I've learned over the years nothing beats the stability, traction, and control you feel you have driving a heavier truck when there's a snow covered road.
