Disengage the deck
Apply the clutch andlock it in.
Then you can should be able to leave it running.

If you are adventurous it’s relatively easy to unolug and bypass the switch with a jumper.

Draw 80-100+ amp while cranking for 3-10 seconds and then try to recharge at 3 amp.

That tiny starter doesn't draw crap. My 3-cyl diesel draws 150 and has #4 cables. I believe the PP battery “cables” were only 10 gauge. I made new ones that were 8 gauge to the ground and solenoid.

Besides starting my diesel uses about 1/3 amp hour of btty capacity, even at 150a peak current
