Sorry Moss - you, me, and most of the world MUST be wrong. Per my son and his young buddies assure me that it's all a hoax. Yep - a HOAX!

hmmm - Dumb ole' Dad must be dreaming about all the news, warnings, deaths, etc. caused by the Corona Virus 19? Must be nice to be invincible?

To paraphrase Mark Twain: When I was a teenager I could not believe how ignorant my parents were. Ten years later I realized how much they had learned in those years.

Here in Mississippi we've been under a mandatory mask order for months, people still shop inside in close quarters without masks without being admonished.
It's their right to infect others.

As one member once quoted-----------
"The good lord sure liked dumb (stupid) people as he made a lot of them"

Any idea why the signs? I know that antibiotics do not work on a virus, only on bacteria. I don't understand why a secondary infection. like bacterial pneumonia, wouldn't indicate an antibiotic though. Maybe the signs are for those who are unaware that antibiotics are not effective for a virus and think they ought to have them.

Cousins in Mississippi have it. They giving them Antibiotics as well. Perhaps all Dr's don't think the same... Who knows ?

My eldest daughter, 42 years old, a teacher with a heart murmur contracted it with four of her students. She just got the all clear from the health department. She had all the same sort of symptoms that you described, said if sleeping was an Olympic event she could have competed for Canada. We were really nervous with the whole deal. She still fatigues easily but is doing much better. Here is hoping that you and yours get through this and are back doing what you like to do promptly. Be safe, be well.

Unfortunately, that make-believe thinking is carrying over here in Georgia as well. I've kept myself pretty much isolated now for about 7 months. The very few times that I absolutely had to go out, although with mask, sanitizer, distancing, etc., I see so many people that seem to be totally ignorant of the pandemic. For example, last week I had to go out. While going through 2 cities, I saw a total of 3 people wearing masks. Three! What's wrong with people. What are they thinking? Getting the virus accidentally is sad but understandable. But flaunting it? Stupid is all I can say.

I've always heard "You can tell a smart-***, but you can't tell them much."

I like this quote from Dr. Fauci

"You have a personal and societal responsibility to protect yourself and those around you".....Dr. Fauci

What I would like to tell someone out in public without a mask ...

"I don't care of you have Covid or VD. I do care if you give it to someone else. Wear protection.

And now the mask police come out. Guess Eddie's thread about him having covid will be closed due to the mask police.

I had covid. I didn't wear a cheap Chinese mask, and I don't intend to start

If you choose to believe in a cheap Chinese mask. By all means wear one.
I don't believe in cheap Chinese mask, and not going to wear one.

Cousins in Mississippi were so afraid of getting covid, they wore mask everywhere.
They still ended up with covid.
It's out there, If you don't get it, consider yourself lucky, not due to a cheap chinese made mask

The masks are to keep you from coughing droplets out into the air. You wear them to protect others, not yourself. ;)

but if you aren't sick, then no mask is needed...
It would be just like before covid. No one wore mask to keep others from catching colds, or the flu, or what ever else you may have had . You gonna wear a mask the rest of your life ? Now that it's started, they will want people to continue forever .

If anyone wants to wear one, fine, But don't expect everyone to wear one.
And, it wouldn't be wise to approach someone that isn't wearing one and berate them for it.

just require everyone to wear hazmat suits the rest of their lives. Would be much safer than a cheap mask:thumbsup:

It is a good thing that the healthcare people exhibit selflessness. I'm doing what I can so maybe I won't need their expertise.

I wear a mask because the person next to me might be a Dr. or Nurse that I want to stay healthy (I may need them)- or my neighbor for that matter.

In the early days they tried anything. Antibiotics were one thing they tried. Zinc. Hydrochloroquine. Ex-Lax. You name it, they tried it. It turned out methyl prednisone cuts the inflammation, remdesivir shortens recovery, ventilators kill as many as they save, so they are a last resort, etc. Immune globulin is good, monoclonal antibodies will be great as soon as they synthesize a few tons of a very complex molecule, and we're all hopeful about vaccines.

Veterinarians have been working on coronavirus vaccines for years and haven't been able to come up with one that offers long-lasting immunity, but maybe the RNA vaccines will work. The vet vaccines that worked best were modified live virus, which are dangerous. I have an MD friend who got the covid four months ago, and was tested for antibodies last week. Nothing. Nada. Veterinary coronavirus vaccines have been judged not worth the effort. Maybe the human vaccines will be better, but I suspect we'll need frequent booster shots for them to work.

Anybody watch US Farm Report on RFDTV? A few months ago, John Phipps mentioned that he expects mask wearing to become a sign of respect. Going bare faced in public will mean "Screw You" to everyone you meet. If everybody wore masks, we would not have an epidemic, so we are doing it to ourselves.

if that's what he believes, Good for him. His opinion means no more than millions of other opinions across the world.
You know what they say about opinions.

I have no issues with those that wear a mask. If their mask / face coverings are effective, then it should prevent them from catching anything, a cold, flu, or anything else someone without a mask would be spreading. Hey, that's my opinion !

I think wearing Mask would make a good Twilight zone movie.

...

And how do you know you aren't sick?

How do you know you aren't carrying the virus, since you can be contagious 2-14 days before any symptoms may show up, if they do at all, because many people are asymptomatic and never show any signs of it even though they are contagious?

Wouldn't it be better for everyone to consider themselves infected and do the right thing, wear a mask when around other people, just in case you have it?

I don't want answers from you, just ponder that for a while.

That's the second time you've mentioned people wearing masks shouldn't catch anything. You have the purpose of the mask mistaken. It's so you don't spread droplets in your breath. Does that make sense now?

Wearing a mask is less about preventing you from getting Covid, but more about preventing you from spreading it to others - kind of like covering your sneeze. Would anyone want their surgeon not to wear a mask and gloves? Sheesh
