I like everything about the bx, except the SEAT! The dealer says there is nothing they can do untill Kubota comes out with something next year. Is this true? It feels like you are about to slide off the seat that's on it now. I also can not get any dealers to seperate the backhoe from the bx24. I really don't want to spend the extra money on the backhoe, so i guess i may go for the bx2350.
these are the 2 best quotes i have right now.
1. bx2350/FEL/60"MMM/ $12,300
2. bx24/FEL/60"MMM/backhoe/ $17,000

All feedback is appreciated.
thanks,
howard

The seat on my BX23 seems OK to me, I guess I'm just used to it. I've always felt that if the BX had a telescopeing steering wheel that it would definitely improve the seating ergonomics.

You'll not be able to get a dealer to sell you a BX22/BX23 or BX24 without the BH as it comes as a factory package along with the FEL.
On the BX24 if you remove the BH, it's factory subframe and swap the seat assembly around with a non-swivel seat you'll basically have a BX2350. Same engine, frame, HST, hood, fenders etc., just about everything is the same.

Back in 2004 the best price I got on a BX2230 (replaced by the BX2350) w/FEL & 60" MMM was $12,000. For $300 more your getting an additional hp out of the engine, an additonal GPM out of the Hydraulics, alittle more FEL lift capacity, redesigned ergonomics and a tach.
I'd say thats a good price for the BX2350 but perhaps someone thats bought one recently will respond.

My 2004 BX23 was approx 4.5% lower.

If you don't jump on the BX2350 for $12,300 you'll probably be kicking yourself later. A short time ago I was quoted $12,900 on a BX1850 with 48" MMM, front snowblower but no FEL!!!!

I've also heard that shimming the seat helps I don't necessarily believe there isn't anything the dealer can do about the seat, he probably just doesn't want to make the effort. I have a B3030 (the BX1850 would replace a riding lawn mower) and after a short amount of seat time, found the seat to be very uncomfortable. Thanks to this and other forums, I found out I wasn't the only one who felt like I had to go to the chiropractor after operating the tractor for a while. I contacted Kubota and shortly thereafter, the dealer arrived with a more comfortable seat and installed it. They said they would put the same seat on the BX1850 when I buy that. That's what makes me believe it's just a matter of how much effort the dealer is willing to go to for you. If the BX2350 is the tractor you want, why not just be straightforward with the dealer and tell him you'll buy the tractor if he replaces/fixes the seat? It could well be that with just a few shims the dealer could make you happy, if not, I would think replacing the seat could be treated as a warranty item considering all the complaints Kubota has received about some of it's seats. Again, I believe it boils down to how much the dealer is willing to work with you.

As mentioned previously, the BX2350 is essentially the same tractor as the BX24 but without the backhoe. Can't say I blame the dealers for not wanting to separate the package when the BX2350 is available.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I'm right now dealing on a 2350 and I was quoted $8299 for the tractor..$1899 for the loader.. and $1499 for the 60" MMM. That's $11,700 before taxes. This dealer is 90 miles from me.. but it's where I bought my L3130 and he ALWAYS has good prices. My nearby dealer wanted nearly 13 grand for just the tractor and mower deck.

so.. as you see.. prices can vary.

as for the BX 24.. I may be mistaken.. but I think the only real diffo between it and the 2350 is the BH and the reinforced frame to take the BH stresses.. The loader is the same.. you get a folding ROPS with the BX 24.. but if you don't need the BH.. the 2350 seems like the logical choice.

We'll.. I PULLED THE TRIGGER!! I went with the bx-24,FEL,60"MMM,and hard top canopy for 17,000 total, and delivered. Oddly enough, my wife thought it might be a good idea to have the backhoe, and as we all know, we got to keep mama happy!!! I did save over $2000 dollars by using a dealer 60 miles from me vrs. the one most local... I should get it next week..I'm excited and relieved to have made the decision..I guess I'll just try the seat for awhile before i decide what to do there.
thanks for all the input,

Do you know what the "more comfortable" seat is originally intended for, or possibly a part number for the replacement seat? I don't see how replacing the seat with an identical one would make much difference, if any at all.

The replacement seat is the one used on Kubota Z-series mowers.
