I had a great experience with a local dealer. In to purchase a part. Paid with my credit card. A week later - noticed the money ( $800 ) in my billfold was missing. In that weeks time I had been all over the county. I gave it up as lost.

That money was from the sale of my old rear blade. I cursed the fact that I had not made a deposit the same day I sold it.

Anyhow - month later I'm in at the same local dealer. Nice girl at the counter asked if I got my money back. ??? - how did she know I had lost money.

It had dropped out of my wallet at their store and she couldn't obtain my phone number. She turned it over to the local LEO and I picked it up from them.

A week later - I had four large pizzas delivered to the local dealer for their lunch.

I'm quite fortunate that all this cost me was my pride; education can be expensive. 😂
Time to get your wife to make some cookies.
Or go buy some donuts. They deserve recognition of any sort!

If you were as obnoxious as you say... A big box of fresh donuts or similar offering to the dealer staff is appropriate. Good dealer relations is a two-way street.
And good human relations is good for society.

Well, put off until I had the expendable income, I've got the goods. Sorry for not giving an update until now, but it's a bit embarrassing to tell the internet I couldn't afford donuts. 😂

They were happily surprised; of course, I can't see anyone being upset over donuts and coffee.

No need to be embarrassed, most of us have been there, take pride in being honest about it, it would have been easy to make up a story as to why it took so long especially when you consider your finances are a pretty personal subject.

Thumbs up to you!!
