New Ipswich, New Hampshire was hit hard by this weeks Ice storm.
I lost one 24 inch pine next to my driveway, The top of another large pine broke off and landed in the back yard (about 10 inch diameter at the break). Half a large pine split off at a fork in the tree and fell across the road.
When the tree by the driveway fell it hit the ground with enough force to break the tree into two pieces. Several other trees were damaged by it the on the way down and may need to come down.
Power was out 15 hours.

The amazing news is that the:
1) The first tree fell away from the driveway, house, dump trailer and car falling into the woods. It fell onto a spot I planned to build a tractor shed but didn't get around to last summer.
2) The treetop in the back yard missed my house and deck by 15 feet.
3) The tree falling across the road fell when there was no traffic, fell across the street into the neighbors driveway, missing their mailbox by 8 feet, and while it initially blocked the neighbors driveway it was pushed mostly out of the way by the town snowplow before either my neighbors or I saw the mess.
I will have a lot of tractor, chain saw and chipper time over the next few(?) months cleaning up the mess. It will be a lot of work to clean up yet I feel lucky.
