I made my down payment today and should take delivery of it this weekend or the first part of the week. I went with the 1153 FEL, r4 tires, 600 lb. wheel weights, tires filled with water, and Gearmore 72" scraper with scarifiers.

With tax the price ended up at $30,455. 2% farm sales tax in my county. I am very happy with the price and especialy with the dealer that I have been working with. I decided to use the 5.9% for 72 months finance plan to keep the payment as low as possible. Just couldn't beat the terms. I will be sure to post up some pictures as soon as I can for everybody.

Congrats on the new M6040!!

I just got a L5030 HST Cab yesterday!! I made the mistake of driving a M7040 Cab and really had to talk myself out of it! That seat was the most comfortable thing I could have imagined in a tractor. I had back surgergy 3 years ago, so I needed one that rides good. Having a bad back makes me really notice how ones handles the rough ground and that thing rode oh so well. I also enjoyed the hydraulic shuttle more than I thought I would. The engine was very smooth, reasonbly quiet. All in all, I was very impressed. It is just physically too large for much of what I need to do with a tractor. I love the 5030 also, but that 7040 was very tempting!
Enjoy it and you must post pictures. I posted a few in another thread, but here is one for quick viewing.

Sweet

I am sure that tractor will make projects easier. Seems like you got a deal on the price.

Very nice. Thanks for the price/setup info.

When I got home from work last night my tractor was sitting there waiting for me! WOW does that thing have alot of power. I sure am glad I put the 600 lb weights and filled tires because I loaded the fel several times and I could feel the rear end still bouncing alittle bit. So far I have no regrets. Here is a photo of it sitting in front of the garage.

You know that is a really nice piece of equipment.

Hope you can share some in action details when you start working it out.

Is that your property too? Looks nice.

Good luck with it....

Yes it's my property. I have 20 acres here. Right now I have safflower and some weeds growing for the upcoming dove season. I will be sure to share some stories.

What size/type/brand/weight box blade do you have attached? That should provide some ballast. My box blade is only 600 lbs. (is your box blade the 600 lbs you refer to?) so I need to figure the best way to add weight to it for extra ballast for FEL. I hated to pay the extra $$ for a 1000 lb box blade when I really don't need one that heavy except for ballast. I can always use the 1140 lb rotary cutter for ballast, but it sure takes up a lot of space and can easily get in the way.

I have 600 lb wheel weights, fluid in the tires and the box blade. The blade is a 72" medium duty type. It was not the heavy duty type. I just didn't think I would need it for sand and dirt. I have not taken it off yet to actually see how heave the scraper is.

I am still amazed as to how much pulling power this thing has. I put it in 4x4 and you can't stop it with the scraper full, it doesn't even feel like it is struggling. The hydraulic shuttle works perfect, way smoother than I thought it would be. Very exciting
