This is what I got! A new B7610with R4 tires and a LA 352 FEL with a toothbar kit. I also talked the CFO into a brushhog 48" cutter, 48" box blade, 60" RMM and a 72" 3pt blade. Do I have a great wife of what? Should get it this weekend.

Momedic-

We have a couple of things in common. Same occupation (almost), same tractor (alright, I am still in the negotiation phase but I'm almost there), and both our wives are very supportive. When I first brought up the subject of a CUT, my wife said, "That would be great! We could do so many more things with the landscaping around the house!" I almost died right there. Now I am looking at almost $20k bofore taxes for a b7610 with FEL and BH and am having second thoughts. I am also considering a used machine, there is a b2400 at a dealer nearby with FEL (no BH) for $11,900.

Let me know your thoughts when you get the chance. I think any advice would be helpful.

Nice rig, and nice attachments. Post some pictures once you get them. I have a B2410 with some similar attachments. Great Machines.

BoneheadNW,

Be sure to compare the price of a new 7610/FEL against that B2400/FEL. Remember you will get a full warranty and probably a much better interest rate on the new equipment.

Don't know if the interest rate Kubota is offering is still 0% or not, but even if not, the difference in interest (new VS used equipment rate) could bring the cost of the used tractor up close to what the new one costs, by the time things are paid off. And by now most B2400s are likely beyond the warranty period.

Even if you are paying cash, you may still find that buying new with warranty makes a lot of sense.

There have been many reports here where people ended up buying new, rather than used, because a good condition used tractor held value enough to make buying new attractive.

Kubota extended the 12-24 month @ 0% until 06/30/05.
I purchased a B7610 w/ loader and BH two weeks ago. Due to some mixup w/ the FEL, the tractor won't be ready until late next week. I stopped at the dealer yesterday and admired the sold tag with my name on it. Yes...sad but true.

Add about $5,000 for a backhoe to the used machine price and that puts it at $16,900 which makes it about $3,000 less. You didn't say how many hours were on the B2400 or what it's condition was. Does it have the tires you want? What kind of warranty will the dealer give you on the used unit? I would think he should at least stand behind it for 30 days.

If the total price is an issue then do you REALLY need a BH? I would like a BH but the truth is I would not get $5K worth of use out of it. It is one of those "nice but not necessary" things for me. FEL is a necessity.

Henro-

Thanks for the advice. I will be paying cash so financing is no issue. I wonder if the dealer will give me some sort of warranty on the machine? Also, my friend told me that as a rule of thumb, Kubotas are good for something like 1000 hrs per cylinder. This used b2400 has 320 hrs on it. Also, I would have to purchase a new BH. From what I understand, a b4672 BH sells for around $6k.

What do you all think?

I've been quoted a wide range of prices:
B4672 BH w/ 12" bucket and subframe, from $5900 to $6800.
Keep in mind that this was part of a package and other components were priced differently as well. Bottom line, the 2 lowest prices on the TLB setup were only $200 apart, and then the price was matched. Makes you wonder what criteria (besides profit) they use when pricing out a sale. Maybe a dart board and they throw left handed over their shoulder.

Don't overlook the 0% financing. Depending how you invest, it may be worth $1,500+ to you vs cash.

Good luck, edski

Hey your going to love the 7610, I have had mine for a little over a week and absolutely love it. I would like to eventually get a backhoe somewhere down the road.
