I can't see my tach

I have an '06 bx2350. last fall, a guy from the Kubota dealer came out and replaced my dash. he said something about a recall.

now, for the last couple months, my tach/hour meter has been getting dimmer. this week, I can no longer read it. it is pretty much blank.

does anyone know if this is what the recall was about? If so, were some of the replacements bad as well?

I'll call the dealer Tuesday but wanted to see if this was a known issue.

Though I am tach-less, this sounds like one of the "common" issues with the new BX. Along with cracked fenders and control handle toppers that sunbleach and pop off easily.

Whatever they did, they either replaced something else and put your old tach into the new hole, or the new tach they put in there was bum also.

Either way, it sounds like another minor repair is in order. Personally, I don't think the tach matters much in a BX (unless you're trying to run a PTO generator at a specific frequency, for example), but not having an hourmeter would bum me out. I like my simple mechanical one, but progress is progress.

when they replaced it, the hour meter went back to 0 so I assumed the entire unit was swapped out. Thanks for the input

Sounds like they need to do it again. That was the same thing mine was doing before it was replaced. Since then, I haven't had a single problem.

FYI, the Kubota dealer said it is a known issue with the display and is covered under warranty. I would hope it was a recall item but since I'm still in the warranty period, I won't argue.
