You do remember correctly. The pin does slide from side to side (once the locking screw is loosened). Yes, it is clear (now) that this was not an engineering error but rather, an assembly error. Thank you for your response

LeeJohn, the problem would still exist. A new pin cannot be put in because the bh subframe would be blocking it from being installed.

The only other options to removing the bh subframe (just one side needs to be removed) would be to remove the back wheel and drill a 1 inch hole through the subframe ... but that ain't gonna happen! :laughing:

The pin is already installed and cannot be removed (or moved right or left far enough) to allow the eyelet of the check chain to be "threaded" by the lower pin because the backhoe subframe is blocking it from being removed.

I understand what you are saying, I was suggesting that only one side of the backhoe frame should need to be removed to allow installing both eyelets. I was trying to save you from removing both sides of the backhoe sub frame - I may not be explaining it well enough.

If I understand his situation the way I think I do, it's not the lower links - it's the check chain eyelets that are inboard of the lower links - there is no where enough room to slide the lower link retaining pin far enough to one side to allow their installation when you have a backhoe sub frame mounted. Your pictures clearly show that limitation. The lower links are no problem to take on and off, but if the eyelets are not i stalled then he will have to remove on side of the sub frame to have sufficient clearance to install them.

Yes, IvanS. I did misunderstand what you were saying. It is as you described - one side of the subframe needs to be removed to allow the check chain eyelets to be threaded by the lower link.

Sooo, the 3ph was not completely installed by the dealer during initial assembly?
I had assumed that everything was already installed and you were adding something to the 3ph.
Mister dealer should fix this for you.
