While working in the woods I somehow managed to break the negative lead to the battery. I think a small Ash sapling found it's way up through the underneath and hit the lead. The soft metal, not sure if it alluminum?, broke. I had to wrap the negative wire to the post with a piece of copper wire, I just happen to have in the tool box, to make a connection and get it started and back to the garage. I have not had time to fix it correctly yet. Anyone ever replaced the lead on a L3710? Can I buy a lead at the local auto parts store as long as it is long enough, or would you suggest getting the Kubota part? Thanks for your time.

Any lead should work as long as it is long enough.

Another thing you can do if on a budget, is get a replacement clamp end for the existing cable. if The Lead/Antimony clamp is all that is broken and there is plenty of copper still to put the clamp on. Be sure to grease up the bare wire and clamp to prevent corroision.. I would use No-Ox-Id it is made by Sanchem.. but I doubt if you have ever heard of it.. best stuff I have ever found to prevent corrosion around batteries (purpose built for that). But any grease will be better than nothing.
