I bent my pull arm on my ford 1720 3-point hitch. Not much about 1 1/2 inch in to the center. It's still flat, just takes a turn to the left. I had a 3-point back hoe on it that I had just got, and I must have put some side pressure on it or something. But when I took it off after the first time I used it, I saw that I bent my right side pull arm on the 3 point. Now I'm building an underframe for the hoe, so it won't happen again. But I still want to straighten the 3-point arm. How should I bend it back? That steel is realy hard and I'm wondering if I should press it back to straight cold or if it would work better if I heat it up. If I heat it up will I have to re- temper the steel? If so, how would I do the tempering? I'm looking for some input and opinions on this.

I bent my 3pt lift arm a few inches from straight. I used a log splitter with something covering the sharp edge. Then I used a 5" angle iron I had laying around to use as a backstop to push against. Could have used a 4' 8x8 timber. Worked like a charm.

I bent one arm on my 1920.
Just pressed it out straight .... cold.
Bought a new one just to be sure (they are not expensive).
I have a sub frame mounted 10' hoe on a 3400 Ford, but would never consider using a 3pt hitch hoe.
An easy way to rip out the tractor top link attach point.

Find somebody with a shop press.

Ya, I'm getting the idea that I should bend it back cold. I can do that. I have a twenty ton shop press and a log splitter. And now that I'v done some research, I'm building a sub frame to mount the hoe to it and then attach it to my tractor. I'm also cutting the bucket narrower too. Thanks to everyone that replied.

Oh Man. That's exactly what I did to Mine too. I don't have a dozer but I do have that exact same 20 ton jack and a press. I wasn't sure if it should be heated or not. Thanks for the feed back.
