I am worried about damage to my fields

it does not hurt for bales to be left in the field until needed.

Are you suggesting it is ok to leave them sitting out in the middle of the field? Keep in mind they've been sitting there for two months. Where each one of those bales are setting he'll have weeds come back before the grass.

The guy I rent hay ground from would flip his lid if there were hay sitting in the middle of the field for two weeks, and I can't say that I blame him.

As for the hay in windrows, run a bush hog over those to spread it out.

get real the grass grows back.its common practice to leave the rolls in the field until needed.i would not rent land, that a land owner would fuss about hay bales being left for two weeks.

I am as real as they get. I even have documentation to prove I'm HUMAN!

Yes, the grass will come back, along with rag weed and who knows what else.

Leaving them in rows on the edge of a field for later use is one thing, leaving them where ever they came out of the baler is another.

I'm not here to argue, what happens at your place suits me fine if it does you too.
