The way i look at it cutting grass is having seat time and it gives me peace of mine. It does take your mine away from job and other things. It is so peacefull and relaxing. I wonder if others feel the same way.

I enjoy it too. Much more on the BX than on the old MTD!

Sometimes I even "sneak" over on the neighbors property and cut a bit. That's because the BX gets the job done so fast I need more... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif or is that /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You are not alone! If you get sick of it then you better get yourself checked! That is most certainly an abnormal condition... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Absolutely...in fact the tractor bug hit, and I bought a BX last week. I had a brand new (12 hours) Gravely ZTR 60 inch mower that mowed TOO FAST!!! It got the job done, but it wasn't relaxing like tooling around on a tractor....Does that make sense????

Got home from thaking the dogs to the vets today about noontime. Took off the backhoe.. Struggled to get the mower out of winter storage against the wall and took off the "mowerdeck wheels" and installed the new bushed wheels in their place. Then came the time to put the deck under the tractor. After fighting with it for 15 minutes, decided to take a nap and tackle it latter. About 4:00 the phone rang and the wife wanted to know if I had cut the grass. Said no and went back to fighting with the mower. This time it succumbed and went on. Then came the drive-shaft hook up. Couldn't get it to go on and lock no matter what I did. Got out the jack and jacked up the rear for additional clearance. A little WD40 and a gentle tap with the rubber mallet and it finally seated in the groove.
I enjoy cutting the grass, but I hate the installation of the mower deck. Have to take it off tomorrow to reinstall the backhoe. I think that it is time to purchase a second BX machine. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I'm getting too old for the exercise.
Don't forget to give the spindles and squirt of grease once in a while.

I love brush hogging for about 2 hours. The next 2 hours not too bad. After 4 hours, the old BUTT has had it, and after 8 hours I don't look forward to the next time. But when next time comes around, I'm ready.

Wouldn't just buying a RFM be a less expensive option??

Oops! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Sorry, what was I thinking? Then you wouldn't have the excuse for catching up to Henro!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Before the Kubota, I had 5 Bolens HT tractors. Each with a different implement on it. Seems that they just kept following me home. I still have 3 left and hope to sell them off this year. Very stout tractor for its age. The were first introduced about 30 years ago and the production stopped in the late 1980's. Only wish that I had found a diesel one, then it would be worthwhile keep one for light duty work. If I sold all 3 and all the attachments, it would be tempting to have a dedicated mower, but then the wife would start getting upset again about the growing number of tractors. Tractors and old cars are like potato chips..... you can never have just one! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The more the better! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
