I was going to change the filter on my 250c this weekend. The filter is inside the pump; You're supposed to be able to drain it in place and then just remove the "cap" to get to the filter. I can't get the cap to come off and I reluctant to pry on it or anything. Is there a trick to removing these besides removing the one long bolt on the end of the cap?

Don't pry! It's thin metal, it is a snug fit, along with the paint and such keeping it in place. Clean it off good and then get a good grip on it and wiggle it as you pull it to the right. After it starts moving, it will come right off. Be sure to note where the clearance recess is on the back side so you put it back on in the right orientation. From my 345C manual ( same as yours but with a loader)
