Hydrostatic fluid rookie question.

I never got an owners manual with my TZ24DA, and haven't forked out the cash yet. I have a small leak, that looks like it's coming from the filter, and ran it low. No noises or funny operation. What weight hydraulic fluid do these use? R&O32?

I doubt it's hydraulic oil. It's probably hydraulic transmission oil which is a world of difference. Hy-Trans oil has extreme pressure additives to protect rings and pinion gears . Hy-Trans oil also MUST be wet clutch compatable .
Brakes and clutches have been ruined when Bubba has poured in SAE90 GL-5 gear lube. Lots of ruined gear seat from plain hydraulic oil.
As the oil in discount stores if sometimes counterfeit cheap mineral oil in an expensive looking pail. Go see your New Holland dealer. Even real John Deere Hy- Gard is good stuff.

I ended up going to my dealer I bought from, and they took great care of me. Gave me three gallons of Mastertran Ultraction, and a filter. They also ordered me a manual for free. Didn't spend a dime! Good folks at Brim Tractor in Lynden WA!
