Depends on whether you need synthetic. That CC brand synthetic is kind of unreal pricewise. If you can get by with Hytran you can get that from Case and elswhere for about $34 or so for 5 gallons. I think I paid $36 last Spring and then saw it for $34 somewhere else. A gallon is probably in the $10 range? That CC synthetic was something in the $7-$8 per qt range last time I noticed. I get light headed when I walk by that display at the dealer.

OK. I was at the CC dealer and they wanted like $33.00 for a gallon. I balked, left and got a quart at Tractor Supply for like $10.00. I guess the dealer's price was in line then. I got home, checked the level and it was fine anyway. Oh well now I have a quart just in case anyway.

What make/model/year? Hytran is a different lube from CC drive system fluid plus.

I think your 1872 has a sauer/danfoss/sundstrand drive. (they've all combined over the years) As opposed to the newer hydro-gear drives. Hytran might work for the sauer units.

So what would happen if you used the new stuff...........like my dealer already put in it.

It should be an improvement because it will keep the tempratures down compared to HI-Tran. Thats why Cub switched over to it. However the viscosity is different (thicker) and I cant say for certain how certain pumps will react to it especially in cold climates....I would hope the dealer would have some experience it that - before he just switches out the fluid.....
