The 3 point lift is leaking down . When you lift all the way up it will hold(tractor running). When you lower the 3 pt. it will leak down and put a strain on the motor(tractor running. When you turn the tractor off it will leak down . The hyd. fluid level is good. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. Robby

Well that bit about putting a strain on the engine while trying to LOWER the 3PH leads me to believe it is a control valve problem. All the pump flow (when not diverted to feed hydraulic steering) goes thru that 3PH control valve. In the neutral position, the cylinder port is blocked off and the fluid in from the pump flows straight to the reservoir. When in the raise position, the cylinder port opens and the reservoir port closes, this forces fluid to the cylinder and raises the 3PH. When in the lower position, the reservoir port and the cylinder port are both open at the same time and the flow from pump and back from the lowering 3PH cylinder both drain to the reservoir. There should never be a point where it puts a hydraulic strain on the engine unless you are lifting something heavy on the 3PH, then if too great a load, the safety on the control valve will lift and vent fluid to the reservoir.

Yours being a 200 series, your control valve should look like this one from Johns Jinma site http://www.johnstractor.homestead.com/files/HydValve.jpg

I would pull the control valve off and remove the spool and inspect for damage on the spool, control linkage and or clogged ports in the valve body.

Good Luck

This is exactly what I like about this forum. You ask a question and you get a person who cares and that has the knowledge to help. Thank you . robby
