Hydro pedal dampening cylinder worn, abrupt pedal movement ? BX22

After adjusting the brakes on my new BX22 last night I started at looking at the HST pedal mechanism. I noticed it stopped and reversed somewhat abruptly. I'm thinking it might be the gas charged dampening rod is weak being 15 years old.

also my seat belt mechanism won't lock, Kubota wants $140+ as they are sold in sets. any less expensive alternative ? Thanks :thumbsup:

Quite remarkable how abrupt the trans operates without the damper. I've only experienced it once (on a JD) but it was an easy 'find'.

Seat belt - I'd fit OEM and check insurance implications if you were to fit anything 'else'.

Messicks had both items in stock and saved me $25. Will feel a bit safer now with a new oem working belt.

I installed the new HST pedal damping rod yesterday, what a difference ! driving it feels I'm in an 'Eldorado' now. MY tractor only had 398 hrs on it, but it is 14 years. So old so if your HST pedal is stopping/starting abruptly suspect the damping rod has lost it's gas.
