So after 6 years and approx 1k hours of use, my hydro-gear drives on my z-force 50 have started giving up. Mainly my right side drive. I noticed a chirping sound coming from the right side and after inspection found that the pully/fan has some side wards motion to it. It will run fine as long as you dont pull any hills or heavy turning around trees. With the play in the drive, I am sure it is a matter of time before they completely die.

So I have a dilemma. New drives are about $900 a piece. Other than the drive issues, the mower is in very good condition for a 6 year old machine. I have taken very good care of this mower. I cant decide if I should buy new drives for it or sell it for parts and buy a new mower. It does have 1k hour on the motor and even though it doesn't use oil or smoke it could die anytime i guess.

I am not sure these drives can be rebuilt or if you can even get parts for them.

Suggestions?

They are rebuildable. Should cost half or less of new. Main components are pump, center section, and motor if a complete drive, or just pump and section if separate from wheel motor.
