Tractor
Cub Cadet 149, 147
I just finished a custom built blade that I want to mount to the front of my Cub 149. I’m thinking of moving the hydraulic cylinder from under the console to a custom built mount in the front of the tractor to raise and lower the new blade. This would give me up and down pressure. I’d be losing my rear lift but I’m okay with that because I’m customizing all my attachments to mount to the front. No more hurting neck from constantly looking backwards. Any feed back would be great.

Thanks.

Can you just purchase a 2nd cylinder to use on the front and leave the one for the rear in place? Install a manual selector valve and then you can choose if you want to use the front or existing cylinder with a push or pull of the selector knob.

Manual selector valves are fairly inexpensive, under a hundred bucks.

That’s a great idea. I honestly know nothing about hydraulics so for me just buying longer hose and moving the cylinder seemed simple. But have front and back hydraulics would be best. Does you know where to purchase that manual selector valve? Norther Tool?
Thanks.

Northern tool, surplus center, bailey's. A local hydraulics shop. Tractor supply. Rural King. A local Agricultural tractor dealer. Etc... hardest part will be figuring out the thread size on the hoses, cylinder, valve, etc... and getting the proper adapters if needed.

Thank you for the help. Hoping to do it this weekend or the next. I love this little tractor. I’ve also got a 147 that I’m rebuilding. Just got the motor running last week. It set out in the woods behind my dads barn for 35 years.

I’m hoping to have them both running well enough to use around my 3 acres.
