I have a JD 2305 with a backhoe which means that In also have the power beyond installed. Can I use the power beyond to power a hydraulic top link. If yes, what would I need in terms of an actuator?
Depending on responses, I will have more questions.
Thanks. Bob.

Sure. You would need to plumb a valve in series on the PB line. Plenty have done it (myself and a few other with 2520's). Cost will be about $500 by the time you are done...And you need to decide id you want it permanently mounted or temporarily when the hoe is removed. Either way you will need to fabricate a mount yourself.
If your still up for it, I can link some threads...

Probably would want to remove it when the hoe is on.
Still up for it, links would be appreciated.
Thanks.

OK, here are a few:

Mine
Jim's
Brad's

So in a nutshell:
Buy a valve, then design/fabricate a mounts for it that in a convenient place and can be easily removed. Next measure the length hoses required to "plug in" to the PB loop that you have, you will need the matching QD's to do this since your valve will be removable. Then measure the length needed to get to the HTL cylinder.

Thanks for all the replies.
I know that I would need a valve that the power beyond would connect to and would be connected to the cylinder. There are many different kinds of valves. What type of valve would I need?

This should work;

or this;

I would recommend a two spool valve so you can add a tilt or something else later on.

There inlays the problem my friend...to use a PB equipped valve, then you need a tank port on your machine-and there is none. That is why myself and the others I linked to did not use a PB valve.

Someone will mention soon that your valve will blow up-but cannot explain why backhoes and 3PH splitters work OK.
