Thanks for the post. I have 1 set of ISO B couplers and they never seem to work on my farm equipment or tractors. Now I know why. Should just get rid of them. Most if not all newer farm equipment use ISO A (Pioneer standard).

Before you replace your couplers, please note. The Agricultural Couplers used on your farm equipment are probably ISO 5675. They are interchangeable with ISO 7241 Series B ONLY in the 1/2" size. All other sizes are not interchangeable.

Also, both of these couplers can be purchased in either a poppet or ball design. Some people claim to interchange these, but manufacturers recommend you do not mix the two.

For maximum compatibility, I recommend the 1/2" ISO 5675 couplers. You can buy them for less than $15 per set on DiscountHydraulicHose.com and they feature the ball design that is most common on tractors and other agricultural equipment. You can also get good deals on eBay or buy them from your local farm supply center. The ISO A couplers will cost a few dollars more, and they usually have the poppet design, instead of the ball design.

Tractor Supply has a good selection of adapters, as mentioned. John Deeres utilize different nose sections which are different from standard AG fittings on many of their hydraulics. A local hydraulic hose supplier/shop could also set you up. Take a fitting off, or buy one from JD then go to the TS or other supply house, fit what you need, then return the more expensive one to JD for a refund.

I would agree with Hydraulic Guy. We have bought farm equipment with the poppets installed and did not always have great flow against our ball units. We now swap them out to the standard AG style to match our Farmalls, Mahindra, and McCormicks.

Update..... I went to my local JD dealer and asked which male connector i needed and the parts guy didn't know and had to call a mechanic up front to find the right one. They only had one with the orb thread, so i still didn't get one, but its the ISO 5675, also found this which would have helped if i had found it sooner. Thanks to all of you who responded
