Hydraulic quick connect issues...

Mine is set up with one male and one female on the grapple and on the tractor. I simply plug the ends together when I take it off. My problem has been solved.

This is exactly what I do.. When I take the grapple off first thing I do immediately is put the male into the female and then take them back apart. This "pukes" out a little bit of fluid. Then connect them back together the final time. You now have a deficit of fluid in the hoses from what they had in them when you disconnected them. So with a deficit of fluid, they cannot build pressure, and you will never have a problem re-connecting them to the tractor. Also the male and female union on the grapple keeps dirt and moisture out better than any plug or cap.

Not true for me. I've had the grapple build pressure unattached, and that is with going thru the procedure to relieve pressure. Has to due with temperature rise. AND three different times the only way i could relieve the pressure is to remove the fitting/reattach.

It's on my project list to build some type of relief tool i can put on the end of a male quick connect.

Not sure that it'll work, but I'm building a "manifold" to tie both sides together. also putting a valve on the manifold to release any pressure.
Will make a thread on it when I eventually put it all together (and I can take pics!).

I'm one of the "tap the ball" crowd. I do find that some (namely Pioneer ) are easier to connect than others because the locking collar will move in both directions when making or breaking connections. This way you push on the collar when connecting and pull on it when breaking....

On mine... Pressure builds.. unattached...where pounding the $#^* out of the ball does no good. I have to remove the connection to break the pressure.
