Hi everyone! I just took delivery of my 1999 TN65S with 1160 hours, FEL and backhoe today. Of course I had to play around for a few hours and came up with some questions for the forum. My biggest question is why my auxillary hydro valve that powers the hoe would keep resetting to the center (off) position. It only happens when I am running the hoe. FWIW the rear hydro valves (3) are all controlled by cables. Also...what is the switch by the hand throttle that has a yellow lens? It does not seem to do anything or light up when toggled. 20150423_172417[1].jpg20150423_173858[1].jpg I will be purchasing an operators manual shortly but have lots of projects to do in the mean time. Any advice regarding this particular tractor would be much appreciated.

Cheers

The remote valve feeding the backhoe has a pressure operated detent. When you operate a hoe cylinder to full extension or retraction, the pressure builds to the point where the detent releases the remote valve spool. Normal and ordinary operating characteristic for a remote valve. in this case, your remote is essentially a power beyond supply feeding the backhoe valve. Use a bungee strap or other mechanical means to lock the valve in operating position when the hoe is connected. Be sure to remove when the hoe is disconnected!!!

The switch operates corner lamps in the front of the tractor's hood.

Thanks Rick! I was thinking about doing that but was concerned about causing damage. I did notice that when I use the hoe valves only half way or so it does not seem to happen. Is this pretty much normal for this configuration?

Couple more questions...What is the rubber bulb that is on the dash by your left knee and how do the 3ph controls (not the standard controls on the right floor) that are on the right fender work? There seems to be some sort of electrical plug that looks almost like a glass fuse holder next to the remote hydro valve? Sorry to bug you guys but I got nothing to go on until I get my manual and without the lift arms attached I can't really experiment with the controls.
